Web Applications

Web applications are full featured software programs that reside on a central server and accessed through a web browser.  We use Microsoft ASP.Net technology in combination with Microsoft SQL Server to provide a rich user-friendly experience.

These applications are perfect for solutions where users are spread out over a wide geographic area, are frequently updated, or for use with thin-client desktop computers.

The advantage of a web application over traditional software programs is primarily the ease of updates.  Any changes made to the application are applied once to the server and are immediately available to all users!

Windows Applications

Windows applications are best for applications that require direct access to files on the local computer or intensive data entry applications.  Windows applications maintain a connection with the database and, typically, do not move as much traffic across your network as a web application.  While there are some advantages to using such applications, Qualigent recommends first looking at a web application as a solution to your situation.

Windows applications can also run as services that act as agents on your network.  Such services can update files, automatically process e-mails, automatically respond to changes in your database, or other triggers in your environment.  These are perfect for repetitive functions that are typically handled by your staff.  Look at your day to day operations and see where someone is performing the same task, and let us examine if it can be automated.

Web Services

Web services are applications that serve up data to other software.  If you have a catalog, you can post that catalog on the web so that others can integrate it with their POS or online catalog.  Increase your sales by letting others do the selling for you.
